Accountant Hands on Contract Role Job at Accountancy Options, Melbourne Northern Suburbs

My client, a fast growing manufacturing business located in Thomastown, has a requirement for an Accountant to join their existing team on a contract basis.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Managing the companys accounts receivable, payroll and accounts payable functions.
  • Direct responsibility for the management of the debtors ledger including customer set up, pricing, credits, payment allocation, collection activities and coordination of the debtors finance facility with the bank.
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient production of Payroll (weekly and monthly payroll and all associated activities, WorkCover payments, Superannuation, Daily cash flow, Daily bank reconciliation, Labour and overhead recoveries, Extraordinary invoices and credit notes, Completion of accounts to Trial Balance level and assistance in preparation of financial reports and General Ledger reconciliation
  • Attend to any special tasks received from the Finance Manager and act as back-up in a limited way when the Finance Manager is on either personal or annual leave.
To be considered for this role you will be a recently qualified CA / CPA professional or studying towards and have strong accounting experience, working within a manufacturing environment. You will also be deadline driven, have strong attention to detail and excellent communication and relationship building skills to allow effective communication throughout the business. Experience with payroll systems preferably Sage Meridian as well as MFGPRO and MYOB would be highly advantageous
