Accounts Assistant Job at Weldon Owen, Sydney North Shore & Northern Beaches
Weldon Owen, an international co-edition publisher based in McMahons Point, Sydney, is looking for an accounts assistant to join our small finance team.
Weldon Owen is a company that develops, creates and produces premium quality, illustrated childrens reference books for the international market. Superior design, editorial excellence and a highly visual approach are the companys hallmarks.
This is an entry level accounts assistant role for someone who is seeking to develop their accounting skills and would be excited to join a small, dynamic company in the publishing industry.
The position includes a wide variety of responsibilities:
- Processing accounts payable invoices and credit notes
- EFT pay run (local and overseas) and remittance advices
- Reconciling suppliers statement of account
- Dealing with internal/external suppliers when necessary
- Processing staff expense reimbursements
- Dealing with banking issues
- Petty cash maintenance
- Fixed Asset maintenance
- Bank reconciliations and allocation of cash receipts
- Assist with preparing monthly general ledger reconciliations
- Australian Business Surveys review and lodgement
- Other ad-hoc duties as required including admin tasks.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Accounting/business qualification from University or TAFE
- At least one years experience working in an office environment
- Good communication skills verbal and written
- Organised with good attention to detail
- Can-do attitude
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
- Quick learner with sound computer skills
- Flexible with a genuine willingness to multi-task
- Accpac experience an advantage, although not essential
- Must have a valid working visa
