Reporting to the Diesel Supervisor, this is a hands-on practical role and an opportunity to join a world-class operation with considerable career opportunities. You must be prepared to work in a multi-skilled environment and perform a full range of duties within an underground coal mine. Your main focus will be the maintenance and repair of all underground diesel equipment.

To be successful in this position you will possess a relevant trade qualification, have skills to operate a full range of equipment to high safety and productivity standards, experience in maintenance fault finding and problem solving of underground diesel equipment, be able to implement and enforce engineering standards of practice and have competent organisational, communications & planning skills. You will also hold or be eligible to attain CD&E Underground Diesel Engine Flameproof certificate (or equivalent).

Due to the recent success of a mechanical infrastructure installation contract, an immediate opportunity exists to join a respected leader in construction management.

Based in the Central West of NSW, the project is a multi-million dollar materials handling and process plant construction project essential to the expansion of an existing mine. This contract will cover all infrastructure from the process plant through to the train load out structure

The role at hand is for a mechanical project engineer to assist the senior project engineer within the EPCM in delivering a successful program of works. This will include sub contractor management, client liaison, design reviews and project support.

You’ll be a degree qualified mechanical engineer with proven experience within mining infrastructure projects at a contractor or EPCM level. As this is a support role, you’ll have confidence to work within a team environment and show initiative from the tasks provided.

This is a 10 month construction phase with a roster of 11 and 3 drive in and out.
An attractive hourly rate and accommodation allowance provided.

As the Senior Pit Technician you will be required to perform;

Lead and develop a team of pit technicians
Encourage and drive team to meet targets
Markups, ore spotting and sampling
Enter sample data
Assist the Geologists as required

The successful applicant will have;

Previous experience in a senior role supervising a team
Motivated and driven attitude
2+ years mining experience
Basic computer skills
Drivers licence (HR is beneficial)
Forklift ticket & 4WD training beneficial
